Laura Taylor

Laura remembers when she first started focusing on fitness. She would go to a big impersonal gym, take a few classes, and work out on the machines: one day arms, the next day legs. At one point, she also took up running and remembers working up to three miles in 30 minutes.

Then her brother found a blog recounting a journalist’s first week of CrossFit. If the journalist survived, her brother said he would give it a try. Both of them were hooked immediately. It was fun and different, and the workouts were constantly changing, not stagnant. She saw progress right away, even on things she wasn’t focusing on. Although she wasn’t doing much running, she did a 5K in under 23 minutes. Although she no longer was bench pressing regularly, she could press 30-40 pounds more than before.

Hunkered down as a software developer by day, one of her favorite parts of being a coach is watching new Jet City clients get excited about CrossFit. After that, there’s no end to what they can accomplish.

Ric Brewer

Prior to nine years ago, physical fitness was not exactly part of Ric's vocabulary. About 60 pounds overweight with several health issues, a comment by his mother about how "portly" he'd become prompted him to begin hitting the gym. A year after that, with only nominal success, he was introduced to CrossFit and a transformation. It wasn't just the exercises and routines that contributed, but the sense of inclusiveness and camaraderie that drove him forward.

As a coach for the last 6+ years, this sense of wanting to help others meet their goals still motivates him and he finds inspiration in seeing others accomplishing things they thought they would never do.

Allison Gaboury

Allison took her first CrossFit class in January 2013, after months of Coach Stacy telling her that it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. She jumped in with both feet and has had a blast since then. Allison has been involved with sports since she could walk; ranging from softball, dance, gymnastics, track, ultimate frisbee, and flag football. She loves competing, and since concussions are minimal in CrossFit, it is her sport of choice now. Allison always looks forward to workouts with handstand push-ups, but cries a little inside whenever long distance running is on the docket. Allison is currently a Doctorate student of Physical Therapy at the University of Washington.

Andi Segur

Andi got into CrossFit in 2013. It was a total happy accident that has been life changing. As someone who has always looked to fitness for mental and physical health, Andi found CrossFit to be a refreshing change. It dawned on Andi after a some years behind a desk that coaching is their true passion, and they haven’t looked back. Andi is always eager to help athletes with their form, functional mobility, and overall fitness. Andi has found a passion in coaching Olympic Weightlifting as well and will geek out for days on form. Through time they have also learned the invaluable need for athletes to have functional mobility and range of motion. Andi is a great resource if you are looking to work on your joint mobility and function and how it correlates to your movement.

Stacy Wikle

Stacy discovered CrossFit in 2012 when her personal trainer sent her to Jet City mistakenly thinking it was a boxing gym. Fascinated (and a bit intimidated) by all the people jumping on boxes, she decided to stick around for the opportunity to kick some ass. Since then, CrossFit has become a way of life for her because she gets to lift heavy shit with an awesome community she loves.

A treehugger at heart, Stacy's coaching style is laid back, goofy, and welcoming. She loves being able to show people that just because one doesn't fit society's standards of "fitness", it doesn't mean you can't hang with the fire breathers. Her goals are to teach her clients not to judge their body by its type and to push themselves for better (and heavier!) things. Her favorite thing about coaching is watching people do things they never thought they'd be able to do.

When she's not at Jet, Stacy likes go camping in her teardrop trailer, cheer on the Seahawks, and listen to AC/DC with her wife and their dog.
